What’s the product?
We’ve got four of Single Variety’s gorgeous jars in our range – Fireflame Chilli Jam (a mild heat, packed with flavour), Onion Marmalade (rich and sweet, perfect with cheese), Maravilla Raspberry Preserve (deserved winner of a Great Taste Award in 2022!) and Seville Orange Marmalade (bittersweet, fresh and full of sunshine).
Who’s behind it?
Nicola Simons, a former product developer and supermarket buyer.
What’s the story?
Nicola started Single Variety out of her London kitchen in 2016, experimenting with fabulous fresh ingredients to create jams and preserves that are low on sugar and big on flavour. She built a loyal following through food markets and a few years ago, moved to Bristol to set up her own jam factory, where her small team takes every single jar from prep to dispatch themselves. It’s fair to say that they’ve quickly become part of the local community, taking home Best Retail at the 2023 Bristol Life Awards!
Why we love it…
Single Variety are all about making the fresh, natural flavours of their ingredients the star of the show – they cook in small batches using only the tastiest produce, and don’t add any nasties or overload their jars with too much sugar. The result is an incredible flavour explosion in every single jar!
