Corporate Social Responsibility

We know that Corporate Social Responsibility is a huge factor in choosing your business gifts. When you order from Taste of Bath, you send a powerful message about what's important to your company: supporting small business and independent artisans, making a difference in the local community, and treading lightly on the environment.

Our biggest social responsibility is our work with our food producers!

Our business service facilitates a link between bigger businesses, in Bath and nationally, and smaller local producers. Our producers get significant extra revenue, regular orders they can rely on, and a platform to reach a new audience, whilst our business gifting clients get a fabulously unique and memorable gift with the powerful CSR message of supporting small and independent.

We feel a deep responsibility for the local producers under our umbrella, and we’ve never felt it as keenly as during the first Covid 19 lockdown. All our producers’ wholesale and retail sales dried up – except for Taste of Bath.

We're proud to support local charities, especially Bath Foodbank

Our main charity partner is Bath Foodbank, who provide emergency food parcels and other essential support for people in need in the local community. 1 in 5 people in the UK now live below the poverty line, and Bath Foodbank’s support has been more crucial than ever during the COVID 19 pandemic. We donate £1 to Bath Foodbank for every hamper we sell, so when you order from us, you're directly supporting people in crisis in the local community. We've got plenty of other ways to support the Foodbank too - find out more about our partnership with Bath Foodbank and our campaigns to support them here.

Previously, we've supported FareShare South West through sales of our tea towels, and managed to raise £2250 between 2018 and 2021 to help feed people in need. In early 2021, we ran a month-long initiative to donate brownies to local NHS staff for every order we received, and ended up gifting almost 400 brownies thanks to the support of our lovely customers! We also regularly donate hampers to local charitable causes for auctions, competitions and more - for example, in 2019, we donated £3,245 worth of hampers to local organisations, including The Forever Friends Appeal, Dorothy House, The Cystic Fibrosis Trust, Guide Dogs for the Blind and Bath City Farm.

We practice what we preach – working with independents

We’re always telling people to support local, so we make sure that we do it too! All our printing is done by fantastic local business Minuteman, and deliveries within Bath are made by the gorgeously green Three Bags Full. We also use brilliant local firms Unividual, Richardson Swift and Thrings for our legislative and accounting work.

We keep it green with our packaging

All of our packaging is designed to be as environmentally-friendly as possible. Our beautiful cardboard boxes and stylish signature gift boxes are both made with recycled materials and can themselves be recycled. You can have a little more fun when it comes to recycling our gorgeous handmade apple crates - we've seen them reused as toy boxes, planters, dog beds and more!

All our packing material is recycled too, and totally plastic free - we use wood wool and paper bubble wrap, which are guaranteed to keep the goodies safe without the environmental impact.

If you're a local Bath business, you can also take advantage of electric cargobike delivery from our friends at Three Bags Full! Find out more about all the ways we keep it green here.
