Sharing the love with local NHS heroes!
February is a month for spreading a little love, and right now, no one needs our love and support more than our brilliant NHS heroes. That’s why we’ve decided that for every order we get throughout the month of February, we’ll donate a scrumptious chocolate brownie to the staff at our local Intensive Care Unit, at the Royal United Hospital in Bath.
Taste of Bath CEO Helen has a sister working as an ICU anaesthetist at an NHS hospital in Oxfordshire, and says, "She's working nights, 13 hour shifts, lots of overtime and on occasion can only grab 30 mins of sleep by pushing chairs together in the hospital corridors. What's more, she has to make life and death decisions such as which patients can go on a ventilator, on a daily basis. I am so proud of her - yes she trained for this, but she consciously decides to put herself on the line for others."
We’ll be delivering chocolate brownies from the Best Ever Brownie Company (they’re utterly fabulous, and you can get some for yourself here!) to staff at the RUH. It might only be a little something, but for staff working incredibly hard right now, we think a fabulous chocolate fix might just make a difference at the end (or in the middle) of a long shift. We’ll donate one brownie for every single order we get this month – whether you’re buying a present for a friend, or you’re a business client ordering multiple hampers in one go. We’re hoping that will add up to a LOT of brownies for incredibly hard-working NHS staff!
To get involved, all you need to do is place an order, big or small, and we’ll take care of the rest. Gorgeous food and drink and a good deed, win/win! It’s the perfect excuse to send a little something to friends and loved ones who might need a bit of cheering up, organise a gorgeous gift for a birthday or anniversary, or just treat yourself to some Taste of Bath goodies – come on, you deserve it…
